While you are wielding a shield with which you are proficient, when you are subjected to an effect that allows you to make a Dexterity saving throw to take only half damage, and you succeed on the saving throw, you can use your reaction to take no damage.
When a creature you can see damages you while you are wielding a shield with which you are proficient, you can use your reaction to reduce the damage by an amount equal to your proficiency bonus.
